Carer-reported general health for males a and females b with and without recurrent headache. The carer-reported general health status of adolescents, collapsed across cohort, for those with a carer-reported response of ‘yes’ to [study child has] recurrent headache as an ongoing condition (male n = 577, female n = 795) and for those with a carer-reported response of ‘no’ to [study child has] recurrent headache as an ongoing condition (male n = 10,439, female n = 9737). The general health scale asked the carer to indicate on a five-point Likert scale, ‘in general, how would you say your child’s current health is (excellent, very good, good, fair, poor)?’. A greater proportion of adolescents with recurrent headache were classified as having fair to poor general health by their carer, compared to those without recurrent headache
